Educational Objectives

- Defining the 2 different pools of buyers for solo practices today
- Update on practice valuations (a % of revenue is an outdate metric)
- 5 Drivers of value in your dental practice

Abstract

As recently as 15 years ago, there were primarily 1 pool of buyers for dental practices in America: solo dentists.  Valuations were maxed out at 90% of collections (due to banks appetite for risk) unless a Seller Note accompanied the deal.  Today, there is a second pool of buyers for a single practice: DSOs / Group Practices.  As a result, valuations have been driven up (sometimes well in excess of 100% of collections) due the increase in demand.

Educational Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
» Distinguish between modest vs. complex care patients’ preferences during the new patient experience

» Discover patients’ readiness for care

» Offer care for conditions patients are concerned about and for those they are not

» The structure and strategies of offering care

» Managing patients who are not yet ready for care

Abstract

You may be part of the thousands of dentists and team members who flock to continuing education courses every year. Yet, how much of what you learn is actually put into everyday practice? How much of it offers a return on your continuing education investments of time and money? The fact is patients often don’t accept care that we’ve learned and know is in their best interests. If there’s a significant gap between what you know and how you actually practice, then this webinar will help close that gap.

It focuses on three crucial issues;

• Offering complete care to patients without losing them to “Sticker shock”

• Influencing patients without ever sounding or feeling like a salesperson

• Recommending treatment in half the time with twice the results

This webinar introduces a case study that illustrates a case acceptance process that is applicable to a wide range of practices from those providing modest “bread and butter” dentistry to those offering complex care. This webinar is suitable for dentists and team members.

Managing Safety Data Sheets in the 21st Century

Categories:

Target Audience: Dental Assistants, Dental Students, Dentists

Duration: 38:10

View Video

Synopsis

OSHA requires that dental offices maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS), formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). These must be in a location that ensures they are readily available for all employees in the office. This requirement falls under a set of OSHA regulations called the Hazard Communication Standard, and is often referred to as the “Right-to-Know”. This is not a new Standard, however in 2012, OSHA passed new requirements that directly impact dental offices. Manufacturers are now required to provide SDS to users of products containing chemicals. The Safety Data Sheet meets the requirements of the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and is intended to make it easier for the user to easily understand the SDS, which has been standardized globally. Manufacturers were given until June 1st, 2015, to comply and update their existing MSDS to the SDS format. Employees in dental offices must be able to access and understand the SDS and must be provided training on reading and understanding SDS.
