Abstract

Part 1

This presentation will discuss a comprehensive approach for addressing periodontal disease, salivary diagnostics and oral systemic research findings. The interconnections between periodontal disease, periodontal pathogens and systemic health are well established at this point. Incorporating these research findings and laboratory technology into daily practice will enhance the level of care being provided.

Part 2

This presentation will review advanced periodontal surgical treatment options, including advanced bone regeneration and implant placement. These techniques will include guided bone regeneration, advanced ridge augmentation, sinus lifts and a variety of implant platforms. The primary purpose of these techniques is to rehabilitate areas of bone and tooth loss. Restoration of function and esthetics is the primary goal.
