The Profitable Endodontist's Armamentarium

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

Abstract
Endodontic access runs the gamut from simple and efficient to challenging and potentially catastrophic. How can we reduce the stress of this part of the procedure and be both expeditious and precise? First, you must be prepared. Second, you must have the correct armamentarium. Third, you must have the right mindset and keep the end in mind. Dr. Davis will take you through his setup, his access steps for different case types, and what he does pre-op to be both ultra-efficient and precise.
Traditionally, we have been taught we must have a glide path with hand files prior to introducing rotary instruments into the canal. This was emphasized even more so in "tight" canals or maybe an MB2, or cases with extreme curvature. With the advancement of rotary file technology this is ancient history. Dr. Davis will give you the steps to safely and efficiently negotiate any canal and minimize the use of hand files in the process.
Many advancements have been made in file design and metallurgy. Competition has helped drive this with great benefit to us. You have many choices in both which company you choose to buy from and the file design that works well in your hands. As a former college golfer I had to have the right club and swing for the shot. I will discuss my three go to files that will make your cases more efficient and allow you to enjoy more and fret less.
Traditionally sealers took a back seat to many other things in our set up. There are many reasons for this, but it mostly boiled down to if Roth's sealer worked and this worked and that worked, most endodontists chose sealer based on ease of use and cost. With modern endodontics encompassing more conservative file design and less "shaping" the role of sealer has changed. With more of a single cone technique we need, a material that flows well, is easy to use, can fill more of the canal space, doesn't shrink, and promotes bone healing.
To be more productive, and ultimately more profitable, you have to change your mindset. Focusing on saving doesn't help you make more. You must think about being efficient, predictable, and how you can do more in a given day. I will walk you through how I learned this and how you can apply this immediately in your practice. The larger concept is how you think about your day and being efficient in your practice. As always, the devil is in the details. You and your staff will both love this conceptual change that will clearly show in your bottom line!

Dr. Adam Davis
Dr. Adam Davis attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, graduating in 2001. He spent five years serving as a general dentist in the US Navy. After fulfilling his active-duty commitment, Dr. Davis entered the Endodontic Residency Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He received his Endodontic Specialty Certificate in June of 2008. In July 2008, Dr. Davis opened Cumberland Endodontics in the greater Nashville area.
