  • Establish a comfort zone in treatment planning for congenitally missing teeth in the aesthetic zone.  
  • Establish a comfort zone in laboratory communication via written and photographic documentation.
  • Utilize zirconia as a restorative material based on functional and aesthetic demands to provide a predictable restorative outcome.

Abstract

Agenesis in the maxillary anterior region poses an aesthetic and functional challenge to surgical and restorative clinicians. Due to the complex nature and longitudinal treatment requirements, optimal treatment planning and multidisciplinary collaboration is required. The presentation will be introducing two different restorative treatment options from patient presentation to definitive prostheses delivery.

Author Bio

Dr. Seung Jun Song

Dr. Song is an assistant professor of dental medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. He earned his DMD from Kyunghee University School of Dentistry (Seoul, Korea) in 2006. After 3 years of military service and 7 years of private practice in general dentistry he completed specialty training in Prosth­odontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2019 where he served as chief resident. During this time, he also completed his Master of Science degree. From 2021 to 2023 Dr. Song completed a fellowship in Implantology at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He is currently serving as the director of predoctoral prosthodontics at Columbia University.
