Educational Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the indication and case selection criteria for existing overdenture cases to convert to locator fixed.
  • Identify the importance of case selection for locator fixed candidacy.
  • Describe the importance of radiographic evaluation to ensure engagement of the locator in the housing.
  • Comprehend the importance of compliance with maintenance and follow-up.

Abstract

Immediate load of implants using Locator Fixed is one of the treatment modalities that can be offered to specific patients seeking same-day fixed teeth. The surgical component of this option follows the same rules for All on X except for:

(A) All implants have to be parallel to each other.

(B) Less bone reduction is required.

Locator Fixed can be used to convert certain over denture cases to fixed full arch by only changing the housing, but using the same locator. Moreover, it can be used in selected cases for immediate load at the time of implant placement.
