Abstract
In 2019, HHS released a new initiative known as the Plan to End the HIV Epidemic. Understanding this plan and the roll that the dental profession can play in helping patients stay engaged in care and referring or providing HIV screening are important to ensure success. Oral health is an integral component of primary care. As stated in the Surgeon General’s report: “Oral Health in America”, one cannot be healthy without oral health.
Join Dr. David Reznik, Director of the Oral Health Center of Grady Health System’s Infectious Disease Program, for a 1-hour webinar covering information on the important role of the oral health care team regarding the overall well-being of people with HIV (PWH).

Author Bio
David Reznik, DDS
Dr. David Reznik is a graduate of Emory College and Emory University’s School of Dentistry and is the Director of the Oral Health Center of Grady’s Infectious Disease Program, a program he founded 26 years ago. He also serves as Chief of the Dental Medicine Service for the Grady Health System. Dr. Reznik is president and founder of the HIV Dental Alliance (HIVdent.org), a not-for-profit organization of concerned healthcare providers committed to assuring access to high quality oral health care services for people living with HIV disease. He also serves as Vice Chair of The AIDS Institute. Dr. Reznik has lectured and published extensively on HIV, oral health and access to care. He has also helped set up oral health programs throughout the United States for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (HAB) grantees and serves as a clinical site visitor for HAB oral health grantees. Dr. Reznik was a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (2002 – 2007), where is served as chair of the Treatment and Care and Domestic sub-committees. Dr. Reznik was honored at the 2008 Ryan White All Grantees meeting with the HRSA – HIV/AIDS Bureau - Associate Administrator’s Award: “For his years of passion, dedication commitment and national leadership on HIV oral health care, and for serving as a champion for national health care provider education.
