Event Details
OSHA updates will be presented along with bloodborne pathogens, infection control, Hazard Recognition, and a close look at Covid 19 policies in dental practices. This course fulfills the annual requirement for Infection Control training and OSHA updates to comply with Federal and State laws. We will clarify any confusion between the state and federal mandates along with the proposed CDC guidelines.
HIPAA requirements will also be covered to maintain office compliance with patient’s private health information and disclosures.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The OSHA Updates program is specifically designed to inform and educate dental professionals on safe work processes and best practices for safety and Infection Control compliance. A special look at Covid 19 and Airborne Transmission Prevention recommendations will also be examined. A comprehensive review of regulations, required documentation, and systems implementation will be covered during this lecture. A review of the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, education expectations, labeling and posting requirements, proper PPE implementation along with employer and employee compliance requirements will be outlined for practical application in the dental office environment.
The HIPAA Course provides training on important provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The class presents information on HIPAA terms, privacy and security rules, HIPAA compliance, patient rights, employer and employee responsibilities, the HIPAA officer, company policies and disclosures, and HIPAA regulations. This includes Public Law 104-191, the Privacy Rule, the Security Rule, the Enforcement Rule, and the Omnibus Rule. This training program also provides essential information about the Administrative Requirements, the Security and Privacy provisions of regulation text 45 CFR Parts 160, 162, and 164.
